Metal roofing in Burlington, NC

Standing seam metal roof installed on a home in Burlington, North Carolina

A metal roof is the last roof most homeowners buy. We install standing seam and exposed-fastener systems across the Piedmont Triad — panels specified for our weather, samples you can hold against your brick, and an itemised quote before anyone climbs a ladder.

40–70 year lifespan Reflective, cooler attic Low maintenance Installed by our own crew

Standing seam

Concealed fasteners, clean vertical lines, and no exposed screws to back out over time.

Less to maintain

No granule loss, no curling tabs. A wash and an annual look is most of the upkeep.

Cooler in summer

Reflective finishes send solar heat back out instead of holding it over your attic.

Built for our weather

Rated for Piedmont wind and hail, and non-combustible if lightning ever finds it.

The Case For Metal

Why homeowners choose a metal roof

Six reasons that come up on nearly every kitchen table we sit at.

One roof, not three

Asphalt here gives you roughly twenty years. A properly installed metal roof outlives two or three of those cycles.

Sheds water and debris

Smooth panels move water fast and give leaves and pine straw nothing to sit on and hold moisture against.

Holds in high wind

Panels are mechanically locked or fastened into the deck, so there are no tabs for a gust to break the seal on.

Curb appeal that dates well

Crisp lines that look right on a modern build and a 1940s farmhouse alike. Neighbours notice metal.

Reflects heat, not absorbs it

Cooler decking and a cooler attic through July and August, which shows up on the power bill.

May earn an insurance break

Impact-rated roofing can qualify for a premium discount. Ask your carrier — plenty of homeowners here do.

An Honest Answer

Is metal roofing right for your home?

Metal is not the answer for every house. Here is how we help you decide.

A strong fit when

Most people who choose metal say one of these.

You plan to stay in the houseYou are tired of buying roofsYou want the look to last, not just the roofWind and hail have already cost you once

Worth thinking about

The things we raise before you commit.

It costs more up front than asphaltTrim and flashing detail is where quality showsNeighbourhood or HOA style rulesSelling within a few years? Shingles may pay back better

If asphalt is the better call for your house, we will say so. We would rather quote you honestly once than sell you the wrong roof.

Details That Matter

A metal roof is only as good as its details

Panels are the easy part. These four are where a metal roof is won or lost — and where a cheap quote quietly saves money.

Metal Roofing Questions

Frequently asked questions

How long does a metal roof last?
Far longer than asphalt. A properly installed standing seam roof is a once-in-a-lifetime roof for most homeowners, where a shingle roof here gives you around two decades. The fasteners and sealants on an exposed-fastener system need periodic attention, which is part of why we walk you through both before you choose.
Is a metal roof noisy when it rains?
Not the way people imagine. The noise people remember comes from bare panels over an open barn frame. On a house the panels sit over solid decking, underlayment and an insulated attic, and rain reads much like it does on shingles.
Can metal go over my existing shingles?
Sometimes, but we rarely recommend it. Going over the old roof hides decking problems you are about to cover for decades, and it can complicate the manufacturer warranty. We tear off, check the deck, and start from a sound surface.
Will a metal roof make the house hotter?
The opposite. Metal reflects a large share of the solar energy that asphalt absorbs, and the finishes we specify are chosen for reflectivity. Paired with the balanced attic ventilation we install, the attic runs cooler in a Piedmont summer.
Does metal roofing attract lightning?
No. Metal does not attract strikes. If a strike does happen, metal is non-combustible and spreads the energy rather than igniting, which is why it is generally considered a safer covering than asphalt.
What colours and finishes can I get?
A wide range of baked-on finishes, from standard architectural colours through to darker matte and metallic options. We bring samples so you can hold them against your brick, siding and trim rather than choosing from a screen.
Is metal worth it compared with asphalt shingles?
It costs more up front and lasts substantially longer, so it comes down to how long you plan to own the house. If you are staying, the arithmetic usually favours metal. If you are selling in a few years, a quality architectural shingle is often the better use of the money, and we will say so.
